The Manila Police District (MPD) has filed criminal charges against 34 militant leaders and individuals who joined the protest outside the U.S. Embassy along Roxas Boulevard in Manila on October 19, 2016.
Cases filed by MPD’s General Assignment Section at the Manila Prosecutors Office on Friday were illegal assembly, direct assault against persons in authority, physical injuries, resisting arrest and malicious mischief.
BAYAN Secretary General Renato Reyes was among those named respondents in complaint.
The lawsuit was filed by 30 cops in Manila, including PO3 Franklin Kho, who drove the police van that mowed down protesters, as they were being dispersed last week.
