Experts are predicting that machinery and industrial equipment manufacturers will soon move to the Philippines in the coming years due to steady growth in GDP and manufacturing output in recent years. In fact, according to the latest report of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), the renewed confidence of foreign investors shifted their mother production facilities and regional manufacturing plants to the country. Some of these foreign investors are from Japan, U.S.A, South Korea, Singapore, Britain, Germany, Netherlands and Taiwan.
With this, local manufacturers need to equip themselves with the latest machinery and solutions to help their business keep up. They can do so at Manufacturing Technology World, an expo for the industrial sector, which will happen on Aug. 18 to 20 at the SMX Convention Center Manila, SM Mall of Asia Complex.
“This is the 23rd year of the show and we are excited to present a showcase of more than a hundred manufacturers and distributors of industrial equipment and technological innovation,” says Jing Lagandaon, chief operating officer of Global-Link MP Events International, Inc., organizers of the show. “There have been a lot of developments in the country’s manufacturing sector and we are really looking forward to what this growth can bring.”
In addition to the exhibiting of products, the Manufacturing Engineering Seminar will be featured once again by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME). This seminar aims to be a continuous development for the stakeholders in the industry along with the Robotics Competition, which will take place in the event. Aside from the challenge and education experience it gives, this serves as a partnership between students and industry leaders as well.
“SME is proud to be a part of an event like this because it does not only connect people in the manufacturing sector; it also acquires opportunities for continued growth and awareness to the technological advancement. That is why it has become a privilege for us to hold activities like these. It does not only benefit the industry, it also empowers the current and future individuals of the sector,” Rostico Morales, Chairman of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers – Manila Chapter, said.
Manufacturing Technology World will also cover other sectors through its incorporating shows including Metal, Hardware and Woodmach Philippines (industrial automation and hardware products), and PHILTRONICS (electronics and semiconductors). It will hold alongside Transport and Logistics Philippines (supply chain solutions) and Automechanic Philippines (aftermarket parts and accessories). The show is open from 10a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and interested trade visitors may pre-register at www.globallinkmp.com to get a complimentary one-day visitor pass.
