The lovely GMA Artist Center stars Kris Bernal, Andrea Torres and Julie Anne San Jose had their own share of charity in May to welcome another year full of love and happiness.
With their careers at the peak, the three Kapuso stars went out of their way to show their gratitude for the continuous blessings they receive by giving back.
Kris Bernal coordinated with Rehabilitation and Empowerment of Adults and Children with Handicap (REACH) Foundation in Mandaluyong to spend time with the children with special needs. Her role as Tinay in the recently concluded primetime show Little Nanay, enabled her to relate with the children as well as their parents.
“Na-a-appreciate ko yung effort ng families nila to make them feel very comfortable. I think that’s what I learned while playing Tinay, to appreciate more. Seeing them na masaya sa kahit notebook lang, it really warms me up inside,” shares Kris.
Meanwhile, The Millionaire’s Wife star Andrea Torres shared precious moments with the kids of Down Syndrome Association of the Philippines. Andrea has always been vocal about his brother’s special condition, making her very emotional as she spent time with the children.
“This is very close to my heart, dahil sa kapatid ko. Hindi ko alam kung bakit hindi pa rin ako sanay, basta ang alam ko lang gusto kong nakakasama sila at least once a year. I just have a special place in my heart for children like them, “ the Kapuso leading lady relays.
Asia’s Pop Sweetheart Julie Anne San Jose had the best time in Dreamplay at the City of Dreams Manila with the kids of Virlanie Foundation. The Kapuso singer-actress wanted to share the happiness she feels as she celebrates three things: her birthday, her graduation from college, and the release of her upcoming album.
“After all the hard work, it’s nice to have a bit of play. And spending it with these children can’t make it any more special. Masayang mag-enjoy kasama ang ibang tao. So I’m sharing this with them,” Julie Anne adds.
Not only do these ladies seem lovely on screen, but Kris, Andrea, and Julie Anne are all blessed with a good heart as they chose to give meaning to their achievements by sharing the gifts they receive.

ABS-CBN Sports + Action pays tribute to Muhammad Ali
“Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee. The hands can’t hit what the eyes can’t see.”
That was the mantra by which probably the greatest boxer of all time, Muhammad Ali, lived by inside the ring, seeming almost unhittable in exchanges.
This week, ABS-CBN Sports + Action airs two documentaries on “The Greatest.” The first of the two, Muhammad and Larry, was telecast last Wednesday. The documentary is about one of the last bouts of the great Ali against his good friend and former sparring partner Larry Holmes.
The second documentary, Facing Ali, will be telecast at 8 p.m. today, and 2 p.m. tomorrow. It gives viewers a peek in the life of the heavyweight titlist as he faced the top pound-for-pound brawlers in what is considered the golden age of boxing. It will feature exclusive interviews with 10 of his acclaimed rivals such as Ken Norton, George Chuvallo, Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Leon Spinks and Larry Holmes, who gave detailed recounts of their experiences with him as well as providing snapshots of their own successful careers in the ring.
ABS-CBN Integrated Sports, the sports arm of the country’s leading media and entertainment company, aims to promote heroism and greatness through sports by highlighting the remarkable journey of athletes through the channel’s coverage of local and international sporting events, and its broadcast of inspiring content such as the Ali documentaries.
