Colorful run promotes Philippine tourism

A colorful and energizing atmosphere filled the SM Mall of Asia grounds as over 10,000 local and foreign running enthusiasts welcomed 2016 by joining in the Color Manila Run.

Powder hues and beautiful Manila views greeted the runners who came from different parts of the world. Joining in the fun run were fitness advocate and TV host Kim Atienza, Yael Yuzon and wife Karylle, and Southeast Asian Games champion Coach Allan Ballester and his family.

Philippine Volcanoes member Chris Everingham led the warm-up, while radio DJs Sam YG and Chloe hosted the running event. Participants were treated to other exciting activities such as Zorb, mechanical bull rides and dance party.

The Tourism Promotions Board joins in the fun of the Color Manila Run Year 4

Recognizing its unique and fun factors in promoting Philippine tourism, the Tourism Promotions Board supported the running event as a kick-off to its Visit the Philippines Again 2016 campaign.

“We are pleased to support a creative, friendly race like the Color Manila Run as part of our VPA 2016 campaign. We hope that through this fun run, Filipinos and travelers – runners or non-runners – will see that races are more fun and enjoyable here in the Philippines,” says TPB chief operating officer Domingo Ramon Enerio III.

After the first edition of Color Manila Run this 2016 in Pasay, it will go to 11 more different cities in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. The festive and vibrant run will also go to Dubai and California.

Aside from Color Manila Run, VPA 2016 is also set to highlight other local and international sporting events happening in the Philippines this year. Among these events are Ironman 70.3 Asia-Pacific Championship, Asia-Pacific Taekwondo Invitational Championships, Asian Rugby Championships, Le Tour de Filipinas, and Asian Masters Fencing Championship.
