Viewers around the world have been left teary-eyed by an inspiring local video with a simple yet touching story about family, perseverance, passion and success.
The video, from PLDT KaAsenso, is called Grandma’s Little Angel, and it’s the story of Kassie and her love for chocolate, which was handed to her by her grandma Linda. who used to run a chocolate shop in Lipa, Batangas. It’s a story of love that runs through generations, and howa dream, fueled by hard work and innovation, continues after the original one closes down.
The video, directed by award-winning Filipino director and cinematographer Dan Villegas, whose credits include local hits such as The Breakup Playlist, English Only, Please, Bride for Rent and She’s the One, definitely strikes a chord among Filipinos, for whom family is the prime motivation for success.
It’s this desire that drives many a Filipino entrepreneur to put up their business, and work hard for the ‘asenso’ that will ensure better lives for the family. For most, this begins with micro-enterprises that grow with hard work and dedication fueled by love for family– something that PLDT KaAsenso recognizes and works hard to support.
“PLDT KaAsenso has always been about empowering micro-entrepreneurs, who are inspired by love for family to pursue business success,” PLDT VP and Home Marketing Head Gary Dujali said. “For most Filipinos, the personal desire for fame, power and wealth comes secondary. It’s really the passion to provide better lives for our loved ones that drive us to work hard for our dreams. Whatever it is that we do, there’s nothing like family to motivate us, and that’s a Filipino trait that PLDT KaAsenso fully supports and celebrates.”
This is why PLDT KaAsenso, the company’s micro-entrepreneurship arm, is fully dedicated to addressing the changing needs of these hardworking, family-oriented negosyantes, continuously innovating to provide better products and services.
One of KaAsenso’s latest developments was a free online store for subscribers which allowed micro-entrepreneurs to establish strong online presence and earn extra by selling their products via the Internet.
For the dynamic and highly mobile young entrepreneurs, KaAsenso launched Spark Plan 1799 which combines DSL with Smart mobile services, allowing them to stay on top of their business wherever they may be.
Dujali added, “PLDT KaAsenso believes that micro-entrepreneurs need a reliable technology partner for it to thrive in this digital age. More importantly, they need a powerful inspiration that will keep them going through all the ups and downs of running a business, and no inspiration is as powerful as one’s family.”
