CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna—The Calabarzon Police Regional Office was awarded the Special Unit Award on the Accounting of Illegal Drug Personalities for exemplary achievement in the implementation of Campaign Plan: Double Barrel from July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017, officials said.

The award means PRO Region 4A “significantly contributed to the attainment of a drug-free Philippines in the Anti-Illegal Drugs Campaign of the present administration.”

President Rodrigo Duterte conferred the award to Calabarzon Regional Director Chief Supt. Ma. O Ranada Aplasca during the 116th Police Service Anniversary Celebration on Aug. 9 at Camp Crame in Quezon City.

The event, dubbed as “Buhay ng Pulis Handang Ibuwis, Para sa Katahimikan at Kaayusan ng Bayan,” recognized the efforts and contributions of Philippine National Police personnel and units in its quest for outstanding performance in the field of public safety and security.

“This recognition  is very important to us. This symbolizes the hardships and perseverance of my men in our fight against illegal drugs and criminalities in our area,” Aplasca said.

“But this award is not possible if not for the support of all the people whom we share the same vision of a drug-free society. To them we share this honor and pride. This award will definitely serve as a great motivation for us to deliver our mandated task to a higher level,” he added.
