121st Philippine Independence Day Celebrated at SM Center Tuguegarao Downtown

Pinoy pride is witnessed at SM Center Tuguegarao Downtown (SMTD) in commemorating Philippine Independence Day.

121st Philippine Independence Day Celebrated at SM Center Tuguegarao  Downtown

The celebration kicked off with a parade of colors by SMTD Customer Relations Services, followed by Panunumpa sa Watawat by the Boy Scouts of the Philippines and the Girl Scouts of the Philippines.

The Flag Raising event acknowledges the presence of VIP guests headed by Tuguegarao City Mayor Jefferson Soriano, Vice Mayor Bienvenido De Guzman, and Tuguegarao City Councilors: Hon. Grace Arago, Hon. Reymund Guzman, and Hon. Jude Bayona. Also attended by Girl Scout of the Philippines Council President, Blessida Diwa; BSP Cagayan North Tuguegarao Council Mark Agustin, Carlos Obispado, Alfredo Javier, Vicente Dela Cruz; the men and women in uniform from Tuguegarao City PNP and BFP, Mall Admin employees and mall retail partners.

Cultural performances are brought by Cagayan National High School Special Program in the Arts Dance Majors.

This year, a sequin-made centerpiece called Kislap stands at the Ground Level of the mall. The display frees out rays of light and reflections that magnify the facets of Filipino character in hospitality, family orientation, adaptability, industriousness, and faith. Kislap mirrors the same values that concluded to the freedom of the Filipino people.
