PHIDBC stages 42nd anniversary bowling tournament

GIFT certificates and trophies will be up for grabs as the Philippine Duckpin Bowling Council (PHIDBC) stages its 42nd anniversary tournament on July 22-23 at the Marketplace Bowling Center in Kalentong, Mandaluyong City.

Competition will be conducted in mixed doubles on Saturday (July 22) and team event on Sunday (July 23), with the awarding ceremony set at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m.

According to PHIDBC president Inez G. Magbual, Congressman Conrado Estrella III, chairman of the Lower House Committee on Sports, has been invited to grace the awarding rites.

Bowlers can play only with their respective associations in both the team and mixed doubles events.

Gift checks worth P30,000, P20,000 and P15,000 await the champion, runnerup and third placer in the team event, respectively, and P10,000, P7,000 and P5,000, respectively, for the champion, runnerup and third placer in mixed doubles, respectively.

Mixed doubles action starts at 10 a.m. with the top 24 advancing to the semifinals and the top three to the finals, while the team stepladder matches begin at 2 p.m.

Big items will be raffled off to make the PHIDBC anniversary celebration a festive and meaningful family affair.
