Team Makati has a new player in the team and is shedding its moniker in Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League.

Formerly known as the Makati Skyscrapers, they will now be known as the Makati Super Crunch.

The change comes at a time when the squad just took in Meralco Bolts player Joseph Sedurifa to replace one of their key cagers Philip Paniamogan.

The Super Crunch lost Paniamogan after he got a call up to join the NLEX Road Warriors in the Philippine Basketball Association.

They are currently running fourth in the team standings of the ongoing MPBL Datu Cup.

And with Sedurifa coming in, the team manager Paolo Orbeta said they are now a complete team.

“We are doing well, and we are happy that we are a complete team,” said Orbeta during a team gathering in Dasmarinas Village.

The Super Crunch team is now backed by snacks company Trifoods, Inc., will carry the brand for a year following an agreement with marketing executives led by Enrique Yap.

“We see a lot of potential here,” said Yap, on the team which is also co-owned by Martin Arenas.

Coach Cholo Villanueva is tasked to bring the squad to a successful campaign in the ongoing cagefest which has 26 teams participating.

With their 8-4 win-loss card, Villanueva hopes to improve on their record in fourth spot.

“We are in a good position. Na overcome na namin ang mga adversities namin,” said Villanueva.

The team boasts of good players like Rudy Lingganay, an ex-pro, and PBA aspirant Cedric Ablaza.
