LA Tenorio shot 14 points, including crucial hits in the last five minutes to help push the Ginebra San Miguel Kings to an 86-76 stopping of the Meralco Bolts on Sunday evening at the Big Dome.
Behind by six points, Tenorio joined Japeth Aguilar and Justine Brownleee in leading an end-game rally that allowed the Kings to take Game Two of their PBA Governors Cup title showdown.
The win enabled the Kings to lead their best-of-seven title series at 2-0.
The Kings also came up with great efforts in stopping the Bolts, 102-87, in the opener of the title series at the Quezon Convention Center in Lucena.
Brownlee led with 19 points and 13 rebounds, with his layup in the last 3:41 tying the count for the last time, 75-all.
The 5’8 Tenorio made 11 points in the last five minutes, with his layup off Chris Newsome in the final 2:45 breaking the deadlock.
After Scottie Thompson converted two freebies, Tenorio connected with a triple and two charities in the last 55 seconds to shove the Kings ahead, 84-76.
Aguilar banged in 16 points for the Kings, with his dunk with five minutes left to set the tone for the Kings’ rally, 75-71.
Allen Durham showed the way for the Bolts with 25 points.
