FOUR more teams plunge to action as the opening week continues in the 2017 Philippine Basketball Association Governors’ Cup.

Last year’s finalist Meralco Bolts make their debut as they face unpredictable Blackwater side in their 4:15 p.m. clash to open the hostilities at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Three hours later, an intriguing affair follows as GlobalPort and Rain or Shine meet at 7 p.m. in the nightcap.

GlobalPort parades the guard pair of scorer Terrence Romeo and playmaker Stanley Pringle.

These four squads are looking to follow the footsteps of early winners Phoenix and NLEX, who took care of their opening assignments to break into the winning column.

GlobalPort Batang Pier guard Terrence Romeo tries to dribble past Barangay Ginebra import Justin Brownlee. The Batang Pier and the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters clash in tonight’s PBA doubleheader.

With reigning Best Import winner Allen Durham back in harness, many consider the Bolts to once again contend in this season’s version of the season-ending conference.

Meralco made its first finals appearance last year with Durham leading the charge before falling to defending champion Barangay Ginebra.

The Elite will present a mysterious challenge as it will parade a fresh import in Trevis Simpson.

Just like the teams who will open the show, the Batang Pier and the Elasto Painters will present new faces as well in their duel.

GlobalPort will be reinforced by Jabril Trawick while Rain or Shine has JD Weatherspoon.
