CLOSE to 5,000 early risers assembled at McKinley West in Taguig City on Sept. 10 to participate in Resorts World Manila’s 2nd Run With Me celebrity charity race.

What started out in 2016 as an initiative for employees only to promote health, wellness, and camaraderie is now a major charity event that attracted fitness enthusiasts and novice runners alike.

Attendance of this year’s Run With Me was over six times more than in 2016, and almost 2,000 more than RWM’s 3,000 target. Through the collective efforts of all participants, sponsors, and celebrity leaders, a generous total of 3 million pesos was raised for the various beneficiaries chosen by participating celebrity leaders.

Among the many celebrities who joined RWM President & CEO Kingson Sian (2nd from left) and RWM Assistant Director for Public Relations Archie Nicasio (rightmost) in the 2nd Run With Me charity race were Aubrey Miles, Troy Montero, Meg Imperial, Rovilson Fernandez and Jeffrey Santos

Among the celebrity leaders who guided five teams to the finish line were Troy Montero and Aubrey Miles, Cristine Reyes and Ali Khatibi, Gian Magdangal, Meg Imperial, and Rovilson Fernandez. Other celebrities who showed their support included Kim Chiu, Arjo Atayde, Teresa Loyzaga, Diego Loyzaga, Luanne Dy, and Jason Zamora of the Manoeuvres to name a few. Veteran running coach Rio Dela Cruz served as co-organizer of the race.

Run With Me was divided into three categories with 21K, 10K, and 5K distances. The celebrity leaders were in charge of prepping and inspiring their respective teams before gun start, aside from competing in their chosen distances.
