Dubbed as the biggest annual festival in Changwon City, the three-day celebration took place on Oct. 5 to 7 at the Youngji Cultural Park and Sungsan Art Hall. It showcased various performances, parades, contests, and exhibits.

The culminating events on Oct. 7 included the “Migrants’ Arirang Cultural Show” in the morning, which was attended by Filipino community leaders and members from all parts of South Korea. Following the festival parade in the afternoon was the “Asian Pop Concert” featuring performers from various Asian countries, most importantly, the Philippines represented by Tom.

The Kapuso actor, who was very much excited to meet fellow Pinoys in South Korea, shared that he is blessed and proud to be part of this event.

“First of all, it’s my birthday on Oct.1 so it’s my way of thanking all our Kapuso abroad for their support and love. Second, this is the first event of GMA Pinoy TV in South Korea and I am happy that I was invited to be part of this celebration. I am very thankful, excited, and happy to be with them.”

More surprises surely awaited the Kapuso abroad at the MAMF as they got a chance to win special prizes and even bond with Tom at the GMA Pinoy TV booth.

The Migrants’ Arirang Multicultural Festival was organized by the Gyeongnam Migrant Center Events with the exclusive Philippine media partnership of GMA Pinoy TV together with partner carrier HD Telecom.

“We expect to gather thousands of people for this event. We know that Filipinos have a lot of festivities and since Philippines is our featured country this year, we want every Filipino to feel at home during the celebration. We hope that everyone would take their time and join us for the three-day event and we assure them that it will be fun,” said Gyeongnam Migrant Center Director Lee Cheoul Seong.

Meanwhile, Filipinos in South Korea can now feel closer to home via HD Telecom’s newly launched mobile application Vision PH as they catch GMA Network’s international channels GMA Pinoy TV, GMA Life TV, and GMA News TV International conveniently through their Android or iOS smartphones.
