While you are reading this feature, Regine Velasquez, Christian Bautista, and Julie Anne San Jose are on a plane to United Arab Emirate’s financial capital. The three music artists would be on a nine-hour journey. Then, upon landing at one of the world’s best airports, they would be billeted directly to their hotel before they could examine the Dubai World Trade Center for their final rehearsal.

The powerhouse vocal trio of Regine Velasquez, Christian Bautista and Julie Anne San Jose takes over Dubai World Trade Center for a night that highlights Pinoy pride and talent.

On Saturday (June 16), the songbird, the romantic balladeer, and the pop sweetheart will treat Filipinos in Dubai to a world-class musical show that features powerful performances of OPM songs, classic hits, and timeless medleys.

Dubbed 3 Stars, 1 Heart, the concert series kicked off in the Queen City of the South then it went to Dagupan for its second leg in time for the annual Bangus Festival.

“Dubai is one of foreign territories where Pinoy TV has a strong presence. Doing a concert is always a good way of promoting a station at maraming Kapuso sa Dubai and GMA wants to strengthen Pinoy TV in that area,” Regine told MS Entertainment in an interview a week prior to their departure.

The songbird added that although they have already done the show twice and the Dubai concert will be the third leg, people can still expect something different especially on the repertoire. Just like the previous two shows, they tweaked the upcoming concert to complement its audience.

“It’s basically the same show but we have tweaked the repertoire a bit. We added more OPM songs for our kababayans who haven’t come home for a long time. When you perform outside the country for the Filipinos, generally, the audiences are warmer. That’s why really do our best to put in more OPM songs because that’s what they want to hear,” Regine added.

Apart from the production numbers in the previous legs of 3 Stars, 1 Heart, the Dubai concert incorporated a segment purely dedicated to its audience. Upon the announcement of the show, GMA Pinoy TV encouraged fans to send in their requests on what songs they would like to hear during the concert.

Based on the percentage of requests sourced through social media, Christian and Julie Ann will be performing a duet of Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect”, the Do Re Mi (1996) movie theme song “I Can,” which the three of them will sing, and the OPM classic love song, “Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang.”

“Every concert we have a collaboration with local artist, but this time they made a request. Instead of a collab performance, we are going to sing songs requested by our fans in Dubai,” Christian explained.

Meanwhile, Julie Anne, for her part, is thrilled to finally kick off the concert abroad sharing the stage again with Regine and Christian, “We’re very happy na na-enjoy ng mga nanood yung shows namin sa Dagupan and Cebu. And ‘yung feedback sa amin, nakakataba po talaga ng puso. We’re very much looking forward na mapanood naman ng ating mga Kapuso abroad yung concert.”

Apart from remarkable song numbers and performances, the audience will also witness the reveal of the seven lucky winners of “Regine by Request”, a special segment where  the Songbird herself will grant each of the winners’ song requests and serenade them on-stage together with Christian and Julie Anne.

Adding glitz to the concert are the gowns and suits created by three renowned Filipino designers based in Dubai: Furne One of Amato Couture, Ryan Pacioles of Atelier Zuhra, and Ezra Santos of Ezra Couture.

3 Stars, 1 Heart is produced by GMA Pinoy TV together with partner carrier OSN. Ticket prices are at AED 430 (VIP), AED 350 (Platinum), AED 240 (Gold), and AED 150 (Silver). Gates open at 3:00 p.m..
