Stars agree that GMA Network and ABS-CBN team-ups in movies allow them to explore numerous options in their acting career. It also enables them to work with people whom they can gain knowledge from not to mention it trumps the ongoing network war that rabid fans of both networks are crazy about.
Coming on the heels of the massive success of Hello, Love, Goodbye, the movie that now holds the record of being the highest-grossing local film of all time and top-billed by Kapuso star Alden Richards and Kapamilya darling Kathryn Bernardo, Maine Mendoza and Carlo Aquino are the ones next in line.
It’s GMA-ABS-CBN tandem one more time, but this time around, the movie offers a different approach when it comes to expressing someone’s feelings.
Titled Isa Pa With Feelings, Maine plays Mara, who learns sign language from Gali, played by Carlo, a deaf instructor.
According to the two stars, they don’t feel the pressure of their film performing well at the tills. In fact, they believe that they have created a good material, which core lies in the emotions of the characters and the dilemma that confronts them.
“Hello, Love, Goodbye was a good movie. We’re also making a good movie, we’re also working hard on this,” said Carlo.
“We are not pressured at all. Wala naman kaming gustong patunayan. We just wanted to do a film that people will like. We don’t have any target. We’ll be happy whether the film will achieve,” Maine related.
The stars of the Black Sheep big-screen project explained that their only goal is for the movie fans to appreciate their film.
Apart from the collaborative environment, which Isa Pa With Feelings had, the stars admitted that they have leveled up their friendship while doing their movie together.
“That’s the good thing about working with stars from the other network. It allows you to gain more friends. And with Maine, we have become more comfortable with each other,” Carlo shared.
In response, Maine said that Carlo is very friendly and accommodating.
Isa Pa With Feelings unspools in theaters nationwide on Oct.16.
