A refreshing team up

In a sea of cutesy love teams, here comes an onscreen pair that offers a different kind of team-up exciting not just the television fans but the online denizens as well.

A refreshing team up
SWEET MOMENT. Jeric and Klea share photos on social media that make their followers finally ship their love team.
Netizens have noticed the closeness between Jeric Gonzales and Klea Pineda especially with the recent photos and stories that they posted on each other’s Instagram.  And no one’s complaining because these two are making people want to fall in love over and over again.

“We share a lot of things in common. And it surprises me how someone as beautiful as Klea would enjoy manly stuff like motorbikes. That makes her so special she’s easy to get along with,” Jeric told Manila Standard in a pocket interview.

Apart from the “good working relationship” they have, Jeric believes his tandem with Klea is well received because of the chemistry they have onscreen.

Viewers first noticed the chemistry between talented GMA Artist Center stars Jeric and Klea in the suspense-drama series Ika-5 Utos, and have since looked forward to seeing them together in more soaps.

“We appreciate that people start to notice our team up and the reception is really warm. We’ve done a few projects in the past but it’s only now that we are given this opportunity. I think people like our combination. We’re both tall, and our skin color, she’s morena and I’m fair skinned. I think they like that,” he said.

A homegrown talent of the network and winner of the all-original talent search Protégé, Jeric has consistently proven his caliber in portraying different roles. Since then, he has become one of GMA’s sought-after leading men. He is also known for being musically-inclined in singing and playing the guitar.

Meanwhile, Klea was hailed as the ‘Ultimate Female Survivor’ in the sixth season of the original reality-based artista search StarStruck. Soon after, she starred in the top-rating seriesEncantadia as Muyak, and in Sirkus as Sefira. With her tall, statuesque figure and striking features,  many have called her a future beauty queen.

This year, Jeric and Klea take their tandem to the next level as they headline GMA Afternoon Prime’s upcoming series Magkaagaw, a controversial drama that follows the story of a daughter who suffers from the consequences of the sins of her mother.

While mirroring the current set-up of most modern couples today, their characters will introduce a story like no other as they get entangled in the secrets and controversies of their own families, harped on revenge and filial sentiments.

“We’re playing mature roles. And I think our being so comfortable with each other helps a lot in executing the scenes that need us to look like a couple,” said Klea. “Working with Jeric is such a breeze, he’s a gentleman and a boyfriend material. I guess that’s what makes me so comfortable whenever I’m with his company.”

Joining Jeric and Klea in the series are two of the industry’s versatile actresses: former on-screen rivals Sheryl Cruz and Sunshine Dizon. Also joining them is actor-politician Alfred Vargas.
