Singer-songwriter Denin Sy, known for his ability to craft catchy tunes that weave humor with emotion, takes a turn towards heartfelt balladry with his latest release, “Wag Mo Na Siyang Balikan.”

The new track delves deeply into the challenges of letting go of a past love. This relatable theme will resonate with anyone who has experienced heartbreak.

Denin has a string of successful works where he showcases his signature songwriting skills. “Sabi Mo Usap Lang” captivated audiences with its witty narrative, while “Pasensya Ka Na God Bless” resonated deeply with its heartfelt message, earning widespread radio airplay. “Susuka Pero Di Susuko” is a motivational anthem that uplifts spirits and leaves listeners with smiles. “Minsan Kape Minsan Ikaw” garnered support from a well-known coffee brand, further boosting its popularity. Finally, “Charotera” stands out as a playful and feel-good tune that embodies Denin’s unique songwriting style.

Denin rose to prominence during the pandemic as the “Parody King” for his hilarious take on the Bioman anthem, which garnered over a million views on Facebook. He continued to bring laughter and positive vibes with his anime, K-pop parodies, and vlogs.

Though the world has moved on from the pandemic, Denin’s new song tackles a topic that can still sting: moving on from an ex. “Wag Mo Na Siyang Balikan” is a song co-written with his friend Kenneth Abawag. The composition is deeply personal for both of them, drawing inspiration from their own experiences and the “EXpecially for You” segment on It’s Showtime. Performing the song live, Denin caught the ear of OPM hitmaker Tim Dionela, who offered to produce it after being impressed.

It captures the struggle of wanting to hold onto someone while ultimately choosing to demonstrate love through the difficult act of letting go. It’s a bittersweet message of conflicted emotions and the vulnerability that comes with loving someone enough to give them freedom.

Inspired by true events, the music video features rising social media influencers Yuan Guinto and Vladia Disuanco, also known as Kyosu and Jaja.

“Both the song and video were recently released,” Denin says. “I hope people check out this tribute song for the heartbroken.”
