Duterte eyes cheap medicines from India

President Rodrigo Duterte wants to bring the cheap medicines in India to the Philippines.

He made this clear with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during their bilateral talks.

Duterte told Modi that he wants Filipinos to also gain access to affordable medicines, just like the people of India.

"We can't find the medicine and you have it," he told Modi.

Duterte said right now, poor Filipinos have no choice but to buy expensive medicines imported from the United States.

The two heads of state held a bilateral meeting last night at the Philippine International Convention Center.
