Tropical Depression “Henry” will continue to enhance the southwest monsoon to bring rain to Metro Manila, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, Mindoro, Palawan and Western Visayas, the weather bureau said Monday.

As of 5 pm Henry’s center was estimated 180 kilometers east-southeast of Calayan, Cagayan.

The storm was packing maximum sustained winds of up to 60 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kph and moving west at 35 kph.

Weathermen raised a tropical cyclone warning signal over Batanes, the northern portion of Cagayan, the Babuyan group of islands, the northern portion of Apayao and the northern portion of Ilocos Norte.

Weather forecaster Samuel Duran said Henry will be leaving the Philippine area of responsibility today, Tuesday, and heading toward China.

Meanwhile, weathermen spotted a low-pressure area outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility or PAR east of the Visayas.

“However, it is still too far to determine if it will enter PAR,” Duran said.

The low-pressure area will be named “Inday” if it develops into a tropical depression and enters PAR, he said.
