Junketing officials warned

PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte on said Saturday public officials who go on trips without his permission will be fired.

“For those guys who have been using money of the government just easily going in and out or travel upon the invitation of...maski sino na mga seminar, seminar. I have to ask them to resign if at all, kung gusto ko man, kokonti lang ang those important meetings,” Duterte said during a speech in Davao City.

“A number of them are lined up to be fired. Those who went out of the country to waste the money without permission of the authorities, in this case, the President, they have to go. But I don’t make pubic my dismissals para naman... to spare them the humiliation.”

Duterte said he would order the officials’ dismissal next week but did not mention names because he did not want to humiliate any of them but asked them to resign.

“Pahihiyain kita. I will undress you before the public. Huhubaran talaga kita. ‘Yan ang sakit ko. Pahiyain kita. So when I say to you, you resign, go out silently. Para walang...less bloody para sa atin.”

Duterte said he should have minimized corruption by the third year of his administration.

Aside from drugs and criminality, Duterte had promised to rid the government of corruption.
