Senator Leila De Lima has been brought to the PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame, Quezon City at 1:10 pm on Friday.

This will be where the senator will be detained during the duration of the hearings of the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court (RTC) on the drug cases filed against her.

De Lima's detention is based on the order of Muntinlupa RTC Judge Juanita Guerrero.

The senator was taken to the jail facility of the PNP Headquarters on board a PNP coaster.

At about 2:30 pm, De Lima's counsel, Attorney Alex Padilla, said the lawmaker is already inside her jail cell.

She has also received an orientation from jail officials.

Earlier, upon arrival in Camp Crame from Muntinlupa RTC, De Lima was initially brought to the office of PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Director Roel Obusan.

At Muntinlupa RTC, Guerrero has reset to March the hearing for De Lima’s motion to quash the charges against her.

This is in response to the request of the prosecutors of the Department of Justice (DOJ).

Guerrero is giving the DOJ time to comment on De Lima’s motion.

The two other branches of Muntinlupa RTC that are hearing the two other drug cases against De Lima will also conduct hearings next month.
