A female legislator on Monday pushed for the enactment of a measure mandating all government agencies to indicate the blood type of the individual applying for an identification card, certificate and license.

Mandaluyong City Rep. Alexandria Gonzales, principal author of the bill, admitted that lack of time will hamper the bill's passage as the 17th Congress is about to end by June 30, 2019.

Gonzales' House Bill 1530 was already approved on third and final reading by the House of Representatives and is currently pending at the Senate.

Gonzales said the bill's enactment protects and promotes the right of health of the people and instill health consciousness among them.

In order to achieve this goal, the State shall implement measures that would ensure the safety of lives during disasters and medical emergency situations.
