A new group supporting President Rodrigo Duterte’s administration has formed a political party called Katipunan ng Demokratikong Pilipino to replace the “same old corrupt politicians whose hands are all soiled with stolen money and who cheated to become senators or congressmen.”
The KDP is headed by former DepEd undersecretary Antonio “Butch” Valdez who said they will fill up their own political candidates in the forthcoming local elections with the intention to implement programs that will directly benefit the people.
He said the party started as an advocacy group called ”Movements to Save the Nation, Solidarity for Sovereignty and Citizen National Guard” and applied to the Commission on Elections as a political party.
Valdez said KDP is a party of principle, not convenience and not personalities.
“We can come up with a team of winners, not just to join debates, but eventually to seize collective leadership which will implement programs that directly benefit the Filipino people. It is our hope that, with God’s grace and intervention, trusting on our people’s determination to fulfill our quest for a Philippine renaissance, we shall succeed,” he said.
He said President Duterte defied the odds because he inspired the Filipino people and intend to follow his example of sincerity and courage.
The KDP, Valdez said, will take up three main issues which have been so far ignored by all other political parties, Electoral fraud through Smartmatic which destructed the people’s right to suffrage; the Dengvaxia scam, massive corruption and killings of innocent people, high cost of energy and water.
Valdez vowed that the KDP will not ally with the so-called traditional politicians who did nothing but to enrich themselves.
