The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Division (PAGASA) tells the public to brace for warmer and more humid weather in the coming days.

PAGASA Weather Forecaster Aldczar Aurelio says, the weather will be hottest in May when the country experiences the peak of summer.

Aurelio reports, temperature reached 37 degrees Celsius on Friday in Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecoja.

He explains, the body index or the heat that the body feels, is about three degrees Celsius higher than the temperature of the surrounding air.

“Mag-a-add tayo ng plus 3 degrees Celsius, so yung 37 degrees Celsius sa Cabanatuan, 40 ang nararamdaman ng katawan natin (we add 3 degrees Celsius, so the 37 degrees Celsius in Cabanatuan, our body actually feels the temperature at 40 degrees Celsius),” he explains.

PAGASA declared summer last April 5.

Aurelio says, rains may pour in the afternoon or evening.

These are called localized thunderstorms due to the presence of water vapor in the atmosphere.
