Another IED similar to bomb found near US Embassy recovered

An improvised explosive device (IED) made of 81mm mortar round similar to the bomb recovered recently near the US Embassy was recovered by authorities in Barangay Sta. Ana, Bulakan, Bulacan, local officials who witnessed the incident told Manila Standard.

The officials have asked not be named because they are not authorized to speak on the matter.

Hours after the recovery of the second IED on Wednesday, the Explosive Ordnance Division (EOD) of the Bulacan Provincial Police Office detonated the bomb in a safe place.

Ely Garcia, a street sweeper of the Department of Public Works and Highways, discovered the first IED planted in a trash bin along Roxas Boulevard in Manila at about 7 am on November 28, 2016.
