SC issues TRO vs. curfew

The Supreme Court has issued a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) against the ordinances in Quezon City, Manila and Navotas that enforce curfew for minors.

This is in response to the Petition for Certiorari filed by the group Samahan ng Progresibong Kabataan.

The TRO covers the curfew in these 3 cities that begin at 10 in the evening until 5 in the morning.

The High Tribunal gives the local governments of Quezon City, Manila and Navotas ten days to comment on the complaint.

Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista accepts the Supreme Court’s move.

He says, he is open to discussing the constitutionality of the curfew ordinance.
