Team BMW-Autoperformance Motorsports made a successful debut at the inaugural leg of the DTM Ph Race Series recently at the Clark International Speedway. As part of the Clubman Race Series, Manila Sports Car Club, Miata Club, Historic Mini Racers and Ferrari Club, the DTM Ph series is fashioned after the popular DTM races of Germany in the 1980’s and 1990’s. Competitors are businessmen who have a passion for speed and classic race cars.
The first race of the season, Francis Aguila of Team BMW-Autoperformance campaign successfully against classic Mercedes Benz 190E Cosworths, BMW E36 M3’s, behind the wheel of his BMW E36 M3 race car. “The slippery track conditions forced us to drive cautiously and feel out the grip levels before pushing the car hard. The chassis of the E36 was extremely good and well balanced. The BMW aftersales team at the BMW Technical Center did a great job in preparing the car for this race, says Aguila. “More work needs to be done to find the perfect set up,” he adds.
Team BMW-Autoperformance is set to rack up precious points in their bid for the championship this year. The team is also sponsored by Monster Energy, Victor Hardware, Sabelt, Brembo, Stilo Helmets, HRE Wheels, Supersprint Exhaust and Bilstein Ph.
