All eyes on Baguio athletes in Batang Pinoy

Ilagan, Isabela– Athletes from Baguio City could make a big splash again.

And it could start anew in the Luzon qualifying leg of the Philippine Sports Commission’s Batang Pinoy.

Baguio City bets, who dominated the national finals last year, will be making their presence felt when the action begins today at the Ilagan City Sports Complex.

Last year, Baguio City ruled the national finals with 85 golds, 81 silvers and 103 bronzes.

It was Baguio City's wushu and taekwondo bets who got the most medals at 46.

At that time, wushu collected 13 golds for the City of Pines, while taekwondo pocketed 10 mints.

Quezon City is also expected to come up with a big show after finishing second to Baguio City the last time around.

There are over 5,000 athletes from 120 local government units expected to participate in the Luzon qualifying leg.

The PSC’s grassroots sporting event for in-school and out-of-school children for kids aged 15 years old and below will run until March 23.
