This corner features pets of animal lovers every week. We hope new owners and those thinking of getting a pet will be encouraged to be responsible “furparents” through these features. We also hope more people will be moved to be kind to animals when they read about the great relationship that can be created between humans and animals.

MAGGIE was rescued by Joyce Galang near a toll gate last February. Maggie, who will turn one year old next month , is very smart and enjoys playing with Joyce’s four cats and 5 dogs.
SLOANIE, now 4 years old, survived leptospirosis when he was only one year old. He also had skin problems and allergies.
“He's on a diet right now because he has difficulty breathing when he gains weight,” says Theresa Sales
Sales adds,”He's healthy now and well loved. I love him so much. He's very smart too—he knows his left paw from his right.”
MARSHALL, 6, was given to Thea Ifurung when he was three months old.
“It started out with my dad jokingly asking his friend for a puppy. He became our family's first dog, “ Thea says.
Thea recalls,”He wasn't the most good-looking puppy as he resembled a rat at first with huge ears. After a few months, we decided to have him adopted by someone else because we weren't really ready for such a large dog. But after a month with his new family, we had to take him back for keeps (re-adopt him) because of how skinny he became.”
Thea says the adorable Marshall taught her patience, understanding and commitment. She does not regret taking back Marshall who loves belly rubs, enjoys long walks, is friendly towards both cats and dogs, and loves to get hugs from kids.
Thea says,“Marshall patiently waits for me everyday. He will not complain if I feed him a little later than the usual time because sometimes, I get stuck in traffic on my way home after work. He will just do the sweetest thing and put his head on my chest as if telling me ‘I am just glad you are home.’”
Marshall now helps other dogs get adopted through his Facebook page called I Am Marshall where photos of dogs up for adoption are posted.
