The red carpet of Makati Shangri-La was teeming with show-stopping looks of Kapamilya celebrities who graced the inaugural ABS-CBN Ball, previously the Star Magic Ball, on Sept. 29. Check our list of men and women who stood out from the star-studded crowd.

Vania Romoff sure knows how to flatter a woman’s body, which Erich proved in a classic white satin gown with elegant draping and dramatic train that perfectly wrapped her body. The off-the-shoulder number accentuated the 28-year-old actress’ shoulders and collarbone. Her clean makeup, classic updo, and minimal accessories definitely achieved that fresh, sophisticated look, which could very well be worn in a wedding.

Jericho Rosales

Jericho made a bold move and a great statement in this year’s ball with his velvet suit in lovely carnation pink created by Ziggy Savella. Echo paid homage to the ‘50s with his ensemble, complete with vintage tie and wide lapel. But what really made this look stand out for us is the rather feminine color, which fits the actor’s feminist views (Earlier this year, he defended his wife Kim Jones on social media from a netizen who judged her for not having kids).

Janella was pretty in hot pink ballgown by Michael Leyva. The voluminous number flattered her petite frame. Meanwhile her diamond drop necklace complemented the deep-V of her dress, exuding a sexy yet elegant appeal. Her high ponytail and side-swept bangs gave her look a youthful vibe. The 20-year-old star definitely looked like a Barbie doll on the red carpet.

Piolo Pascual

Who needs outrageous brocades, shiny metallics, and other avant-garde accents when you can slay the red carpet in a classic tuxedo? Piolo looked effortlessly dapper in custom Randy Ortiz suit. The timeless, black tux hugged his body perfectly. His slicked back hair gave his look a classic, clean, and very Hollywood-ish feel.

Sue Ramirez

Sue brought the fabulous ‘20s back on the red carpet in her burgundy, heavily embroidered Mak Tumang gown. The jaw-dropping fringed frock with its halter top bodice was truly high fashion, definitely worth a second, or third, look. She finished off her flapper girl style with a short, sleek hairstyle with side part and bold red lipstick

Anne Curtis

It was a  successful Star Magic Ball comeback for Anne, who was regal in custom Monique Lhuillier. The understated ebony gown featured a softly sculpted fabric bustier and ruched skirt; it is actually the black version of Lhuillier’s Spring 2019 bridal gown (Anne also wore a Monique Lhuillier to her wedding). She completed her look with a half-ponytail accented with a Jennifer Behr celestial coronet and a pair of diamond stud earrings.

Maymay Entrata

The fan-favorite 21-year-old actress continues to slay the red carpet. This year, Maymay did not disappoint in her light pink Furne One body-hugging dress, with feathery accents reminiscent of an angel, which, she said in interviews, was dedicated to her fans (MayWard Angels). Her bold winged eyeliner complemented her theme, while the rest of her face was kept nude and fresh. Maymay’s sleek updo with star accessories tied her look together.
