Filipino-inspired salads

In celebration of the Philippine Independence Day, SaladStop! launches two new seasonal menus featuring two well-loved Filipino dishes—kinilaw and inasal.

The What a Catch! salad—also available as a wrap—takes inspiration from the beloved Filipino appetizer kinilaw, a type of local ceviche that cures fish in a sour blend of citrus fruits, vinegar, and spices. SaladStop! captures the same freshness and bright flavors of kinilaw with the Kinilaw Dressing made from a lovely blend of lime juice, garlic, ginger, chili, and coconut milk. The coconut milk lends a bit of creaminess, sweetness, and a natural nutty flavor. This is then mixed with extra virgin olive oil to create a smooth dressing.

Packed with flavor, this salad is also filling with its incredible ingredients of greens and fruit: romaine lettuce, cucumber, avocado, ripe mango, red onion, and arugula. Completing the kinilaw-inspired dish are slices of lightly seared tuna crusted with black pepper.

Chicken Inasal-ad warm grain bowl and What a Catch! salad

The Chicken Inasal-ad warm grain bowl is another dish inspired by a Filipino favorite. The bowl is topped with tender roasted chicken breast marinated in garlic, ginger, chili, vinegar, and spices. Unique to this warm grain bowl is the use of adlai grains. Considered by many as a healthier substitute to rice, the adlai grain is high in fiber, low on glycemic index, and packed with protein.

For a beautiful balance of rich flavors in this warm grain bowl, cucumber, red onions, edamame, fresh button mushrooms, pomelo, and kale are all tossed together with the spicy, savory Inasal Dressing.
