Cavitex extension proposed

NOVELETA, Cavite—People of this coastal town and nearby Cavite City are happy to hear that the Cavitex Infrastructure Corp. has proposed a 14-kilometer extension of the Cavitex tollway for its Segment 5 project.

A subsidiary of Metro Pacific Investments Corp., the CIC is set to propose to the Toll Regulatory Board the Segment 5 toll project of Cavitex covering Marulas and Kawit to Rosario, traversing thru Noveleta within this year, after passing the feasibility study for the project.

Segment 5 would include a 9.5-km toll road that will connect Kawit to Noveleta and up to Rosario in Cavite, with an estimated cost of P22.5 billion

Noveleta Mayor Dino Reyes Chua is optimistic the proposed expressway will boost the economy of the municipality and other neighboring towns and cities.

It will ease the traffic congestion from Noveleta to Cavite City and ease the transport and logistics operations of trucking firms serving the economic zones and other businesses of the province.

Cavitex has been improving its roads by extending its north- and south-bound lanes, executing a flyover project for the continuous flow of traffic coming from the South going to Pacific Drive in Metro Manila, and road surface improvements along R-1 to Macapagal Boulevard in Paranaque City.
