NAGA CITY—The Philippine Association of Agriculturists Inc., the accredited professional organization for the agriculture sector by the Philippine Regulatory Commission, will be conducting its 5th National Congress and 2017 Philippine Agriculturists’ Summit on July 17 to 18 at the Villa Caceres Hotel here.

Around 500 professional agriculturists from local government units, the academe, national government agencies, and the private sector from all over the country, who are members of the association, are expected to participate in this event.

This Summit has the theme, “Enhancing the Agriculture Profession Towards a Resilient and Sustainable Agriculture in the Global Community.”

It provides a venue for participants to discuss issues and updates on the agriculture profession, as well as crosscutting technologies on resilience and sustainability to increase food security, competitiveness and product safety in the light of the present Asean regional integration and globalization.

The event also gives an opportunity to share research findings and best practices where the participants will later adopt and, through their agencies and institutions, join hands in extending the knowledge learned to the farmers in the agriculture sector.
