Quezon, Nueva Vizcaya—The FCF Minerals Corp. here recently provided training for the youth to become frontline volunteer lifesavers in their respective barangays.
More than 20 members of the Sangguniang Kabataan from 32 barangays of this town attended the First Aid and Basic Life Support Training sponsored by the firm in partnership with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office in this town.
Ian Moller, FCF Minerals manager for sustainability, said the activity is part of their commitment to empower various sectors of their host barangay and its neighboring villages.
The firm operates the gold-molybdenum mining project in Barangay Runruno.
“This is part of our numerous assistance to our primary and secondary impact communities as we empower them to become responsible villagers,” Moller said.

“We claimed this in lump sum and were able to purchase 35 pieces of First Aid Kid Bags for their disaster risk reduction management and response volunteers,” he said.
Padua said they will also provide the trainees with the same tool to equip them during their assistance.
