METRO Manila Development Authority (MMDA) vehicles can now breeze through North Luzon Expressway and Cavitex toll plazas during emergencies, natural disaster, courtesy of EasyDrive Radio Frequency Identification sticker tags installed by Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. (MPTC).

Luigi Baustista, Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. South president and CEO, Rodrigo Franco, president, MPTC and Danny Lim, MMDA chairman, signed a memorandum of agreement to install 100 MMDA registered vehicles with MPTC EasyDrive sticker tags  to facilitate delivery of MMDA’s metro-wide services.

Shown in photo are  Lim (right), Franco (middle) and Bautista (left) while watching MPTC personnel install a  tag on one of the vehicles. EasyDrive (powered by Easytrip) is the country’s first RFID sticker tag used for toll payment instead of cash payment. It uses the latest RFID technology in paper-thin battery-less sticker form that contains a chip and antenna attached to a vehicle’s windshield or headlamp, and can be used at EasyDrive-dedicated or mix toll lanes. Currently, 163,162 private vehicles use MPTC’s RFID tag stickers, allowing them to quickly pass through toll gates in the north and south.
