Long arm of the law

Four suspects stumble while on the run, allowing the long arm of the law to arrest them Monday after kidnapping 19-year-old San Juan de Letran college student Denzhel Gomez, found inside a small room in Tondo (photo courtesy of PNP-Anti Kidnapping Group). The victim was on his way home from school on Aug. 1 when his classmate, Jhulius Atabay, suddenly joined him. Police said while they were waiting for a bus at Plaza Bonifacio near the Central Post Office, they were suddenly grabbed by six armed men who forced them into a white plateless SUV. In the middle of the ride, the suspects freed Atabay, who promptly informed Gomez’s family and the P30-million ransom being demanded.
