CHINESE SAVED. Rescuers in Laoang, Northern Samar recently rescued a stranded Chinese merchant ship near the shoreline of Barangay 1 in Pambujan town. Nine Chinese crewmembers were safely recovered from strong waves that took the Laoang rescuers more than an hour to complete. The rescuers were led by PO3 Bernie Madrid of the Philippine Coast Guard and PDRRM staff headed by Eric Arandia and Alex Divinagracia.
