Utilities lure job seekers–survey

Utilities for the first time have broken into the top 10 most preferred companies sought by job seekers, according to the results of a survey conducted by JobStreet.com, the no. 1 job site in the Philippines.

Manila Electric Co. emerged as the overall top preferred company of jobseekers, while PLDT Inc. ranked number nine in JobStreet.com’s Top Companies 2017 survey.

Food and beverage conglomerate San Miguel Corp. was at second place while tech giant Google Philippines leapfrogs to third place from last year’s eighth.

Wellness multinational Nestlé Philippines took the fourth place while the foremost business process outsourcing in the country, Accenture, was in fifth.

BDO Unibank Unibank Inc., the lone financial institution in the top ten, was in sixth place.

Consumer goods giant Procter and Gamble rose to this year’s seventh and ABS-CBN Corp., one of the Philippines’ leading media and entertainment companies, was eighth.

Rounding up the top companies most of the Filipino workforce prefer to work is consumer goods multinational Unilever, which was last seen in the 2015 list, at tenth place this year.

The Top Companies Report, now on its fourth edition, is expanding to give out special awards to category and regional winners. These companies are being recognized for their strong performance in their respective categories and areas.

Regional awardees this year include Bank of the Philippine Islands for Central Luzon, Shell companies in the Philippines for CALABARZON, and Aboitiz Equities Ventures Inc. for Central Visayas. 

Awardees in the corporate category include Shell companies in the Philippines, Coca-Cola FEMSA Philippines and SM Investments Corp.
