Valerie Products Manufacturing Inc. (VSO), a Philippine manufacturer specializing in automotive and appliance parts, tapped the Ayala Group’s ACEN Renewable Energy Solutions to help its transition to 100-percent renewable energy (RE).

Under the agreement, the company will source its electricity exclusively from ACEN’s diverse portfolio of renewable sources such as solar, wind and geothermal power.

“We are excited to partner with ACEN RES to power our operations with renewable energy. This transition aligns with our commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility and will allow us to reduce our  carbon footprint while potentially lowering our electricity costs.” said Valerie Products Manufacturing president Edward Jose.

Valerie Products is a part of the VSO Group of Companies and has more than 20 major facilities nationwide employing over 4,000 Filipinos and creating jobs for thousands more through its chain of suppliers and other business partners.

ACEN welcomed Valerie Products to its growing list of customers choosing renewable energy.

“ACEN is committed to providing energy solutions that help businesses achieve their business and sustainability goals,” said ACEN RES vice president for commercial operations and head of account management Sheila Mina.

ACEN RES is the supply retail arm of ACEN, the listed energy platform of the Ayala Group.  ACEN is one of the fastest growing renewable energy platforms in the Asia Pacific.

Valerie Products’ s transition to RE supply was made possible through the Green Energy Option Program  (GEOP), a government initiative that enables electricity consumers with a peak monthly demand of at least 100 kilowatts to purchase RE supply through their preferred renewable energy supplier.

GEOP allows businesses to save on electricity costs and take an active role in supporting the development and utilization of renewable energy sources in the Philippines.
