BDO Unibank Inc. said all withdrawals highlighted in a viral social media post of Glenn Cañete were found to be valid. Cañete claimed P345,000 was taken from his passbook-only savings account.

“BDO has been able to account for the withdrawals that caused stress to Mr. Cañete. All withdrawals done by the account holder online were verified to be valid,” the bank said in its social media post.

Cañete has deleted the video and posted on Facebook on Friday that he discussed the matter with the bank.

“Mr. Cañete advised BDO that they will resolve matters within their family,” the bank said.

Cañete said in another post that he would not disclose the details of the discussion on social media. He also advised the netizens to coordinate with the proper agency if they were facing a similar problem.

“To all those who sympathized, shared and watched the video and were concerned with what happened, your sympathy means a lot to me. For now, I cannot share all the details, but I have already coordinated with the bank,” Cañete said.

BDO assured the safety of their clients’ financial security and advised them “to maintain privacy of their accounts.”
