The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has formally completed the roster of private sector representatives for the Philippine Creative Industries Development Council (PCIDC), filling the remaining seats for the nation’s nine recognized creative domains. These leaders were selected to represent the interests of creative professionals and provide strategic guidance essential for the advancement of the Philippine creative economy.
Melvin Mangada, Chairperson and Chief Creative Officer of TBWA\Santiago Mangada Puno and a Hall of Fame inductee of the Creative Guild of the Philippines, has been appointed to represent the Creative Services domain. Joining him in this new cohort of representatives are Ar. Royal Pineda for Cultural Sites, Mr. James Ronald Henson Lo for Digital Interactive Media, and Mr. Mariano “Audie” Gemora for Performing Arts. The council also welcomes Atty. Maria Andrea D. Pasion-Flores for Publishing and Printed Media, Mr. Jose Antonio Miguel Reynes Melchor for Traditional Cultural Expressions, and Ms. Geraldine Claire Leticia De Borja Araneta for Visual Arts.
With these latest appointments, all nine creative domains now have full representation within the council. The new members join previously appointed representatives Mr. Kenneth Cobonpue, who leads the Design domain, and Mr. Pablo Gabriel R. Malvar, who represents Audiovisual Media.
As part of the PCIDC, these representatives will contribute sector-specific expertise and collaborate with government agencies to implement the Philippine Creative Industries Development Plan. This collective effort is aimed at establishing economic goals and financial mechanisms to support local firms and workers, with the long-term vision of establishing the Philippines as a leading creative hub in Asia by 2030.
