The Polytechnic University of the Philippines Open University System (PUP OUS) and Mountain Province State University (MPSU) formalized a partnership to strengthen cultural and academic collaboration through Open Distance and eLearning on January 27.

The agreement was signed by MPSU President Dr. Edgar G. Cue and PUP Open University System Executive Director Dr. Rudolf Anthony A. Lacerna, marking a milestone in both institutions’ shared commitment to inclusive, accessible, and culturally responsive education. The partnership seeks to enhance collaborative programs and knowledge-sharing initiatives that leverage the potential of open and distance learning.

Following the ceremonial signing, officials and representatives from both universities engaged in a roundtable discussion that explored best practices in ODeL implementation. Discussions centered on promoting inclusive education, integrating cultural diversity into learning frameworks, and expanding access to quality education for learners across geographically diverse and underserved communities.
The collaboration marks a step forward in reimagining higher education as both innovative and inclusive—bridging culture, technology, and learning across communities.
