Manila, Philippines — For Nicky Rice, fashion has never been just about clothing. It has always been about feeling, identity, and the quiet power of being seen. Today, that belief finds a natural home at UNISOL, the Philippine-based, tech-driven uniform company redefining workwear through Filipino craftsmanship, dignity, and purpose.
A fashion designer, entrepreneur, and creative director, Rice brings her deeply intentional approach to design into her collaboration with unisol.ph—where uniforms are no longer just functional pieces, but expressions of pride, confidence, and belonging.
Designing with Heart and Intention

Nicky Rice transforms storytelling, emotion, and form into wearable narratives. Every line, fabric choice, and silhouette is guided by meaning. Her work asks a simple but powerful question: How does this make someone feel when they wear it?
This philosophy mirrors UNISOL’s mission—to elevate uniforms into symbols of identity and respect, while supporting the hands and communities behind every garment. Together, they share a belief that design, when done with intention, can uplift both the wearer and the maker.
A Journey That Began with Art

Rice’s love for fashion began long before the runway. As a child, she spent her days drawing and painting, instinctively gravitating toward creative expression. In high school, she joined—and won—a fashion design competition, a moment that planted a seed she could never ignore.
Fashion, in many ways, was already part of her DNA. Her mother ran an atelier in Magallanes, Makati years before Rice was born, surrounding her story with craftsmanship, discipline, and quiet elegance.
Choosing Courage Over Comfort

Despite an early start across multiple industries and a promising corporate career, Rice felt something missing. “I was searching for the place where I felt happiest,” she shares. When nothing compared, she made a life-changing decision—leaving the corporate world after saving enough to enroll at the Fashion Institute of the Philippines, where she earned her degree in Fashion Designing.
It was a leap of faith—but one that led her home.

Design Beyond the Garment
Rice’s purpose extends beyond fashion. She is the co-founder of Laya Creative Hub, a non-profit organization empowering Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) through art. Through creative practice, she advocates rehabilitation, self-expression, and transformation—proving that creativity can heal, restore, and give voice to those often unheard.
Where Values Align
UNISOL is reimagining the uniform industry by merging technology, quality, and Filipino craftsmanship—creating apparel that honors both function and humanity. With designers like Nicky Rice, UNISOL strengthens its commitment to workwear that tells a story: of pride, resilience, and purpose.
For Rice, fashion remains a language—one that can empower, heal, and create impact. At UNISOL, that language is spoken every day, worn by people who deserve to feel seen.
