Two local government units (LGUs) benefited from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office’s (PCSO) continuing efforts to support public health, as the Municipality of Jaen, Nueva Ecija and Barangay Lamot 2 of Calauan, Laguna received medical assistance on Friday, January 16, 2026, at the Conservatory Building in Mandaluyong City.
The turnover of medicines was led by PCSO Assistant General Manager Lauro Patiag of the Charity Sector, representing PCSO General Manager Melquiades A. Robles. AGM Patiag personally awarded the medicines to the authorized representatives of the beneficiary LGUs in a simple ceremony.
Jaen, Nueva Ecija Mayor Silvester Austria received almost ₱60,000.00 worth of various medicines intended to support the municipality’s upcoming medical missions and health-related activities. Meanwhile, Barangay Lamot 2 of Calauan, Laguna was granted 
₱30,000.00 worth of medicines. The assistance for Barangay Lamot 2 was received by Ms. Aileen Grace Papin from the Office of PCSO Director Imelda Papin, who accepted the medicines on behalf of Hon. Angelica Jones Alarva.
Following the turnover, the medicines were immediately arranged for transport to ensure their timely delivery and use in the LGUs’ scheduled medical mission and community outreach activities. The donated medicines are expected to be distributed to identified beneficiaries in their respective localities, providing much-needed support to residents with limited access to healthcare services.
This initiative underscores PCSO’s ongoing efforts to extend medical assistance to communities nationwide, in partnership with local government units, to help promote accessible and responsive healthcare for Filipinos in need.
