October 27, 2025, Manila – The 32MW Maibarara geothermal power plant (MGPP) of Yuchengco-led Maibarara Geothermal Inc. (MGI) was awarded by the Philippine Electricity Market Corporation (PEMC) the “Most Compliant Geothermal Plant” during the 2025 Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) Compliance Officers Summit held at Clark, Pampanga on October 24, 2025.
The award recognized MGPP’s exemplary performance during the 2024 compliance period in three critical compliance metrics– 1) offered capacity, 2) dispatch conformance, and 3) adherence to required compliance activities. MGPP consistently achieved high plant capacity and availability factors, allowing it to deliver its registered capacity. This was coupled with high accuracy in dispatch, ensuring the actual output remained within the prescribed deviation threshold relative to nominated capacity.
In thanking PEMC for the recognition, MGI WESM Compliance Officer Dave P. Gadiano remarked “This award results from the tireless efforts our MGI’s operations and asset management personnel spend on ensuring high reliability of our geothermal facilities combined with our compliance team’s diligent monitoring and observance of power dispatch protocols.”
