World 10-ball king Magpantay to see action in Indonesia

Reigning World 10-Ball Champion Jonas Magpantay is set to carry the Philippine flag in a grueling three-tournament campaign in Indonesia as he opens his 2026 international season against Asia’s top billiards stars.

The 32-year-old cue artist, a native of Bansud, Oriental Mindoro and a proud resident of Barangay Kaunlaran, Cubao, Quezon City, expressed confidence that he can continue his winning form when he competes in three major international events starting later this month.

“I will do my very best. For the flag and country,” Magpantay said.

Fresh off his triumph at the Qatar World Cup 10-Ball in Doha last year, Magpantay will be formally honored as a major awardee at the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Awards Night on February 16, 2026.

His Indonesian campaign begins with the Asian Pool Championship set from January 27 to 31, 2026 in Jakarta, where he will face a stacked field that includes fellow world champion Carlo Biado, along with AJ Manas and Kyle Amoroto.

Magpantay will then move on to the Carabao International Open from February 4 to 8, 2026, also in Jakarta, before wrapping up his tour at the Kabupaten Semarang 9-Ball Open from February 10 to 15, 2026, to be held at Balai Agung Dusun Semilia, Bawen, Semarang, Central Java.

The three-tournament stretch is seen as a crucial test for the Filipino ace as he seeks to cement his status as one of the world’s elite cue artists and continue the Philippines’ proud legacy in professional billiards.
