In a high-stakes clash between two former US Open junior champions, 2019 winner Camila Osorio emerged victorious Wednesday evening, defeating local favorite Alex Eala at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center.
The fifth-seeded Osorio, better known for her prowess on clay, displayed steely resolve to dispatch the 20-year-old Eala—the 2022 US Open junior titlist—with a 6-4, 6-4 victory in the quarterfinals of the 2026 Philippine Women’s Open (WTA 125).

The match turned into a psychological tug-of-war that peaked in the second set. With the score deadlocked at 4-all in the ninth game, Eala’s nerves faltered. Trailing 15-40, the World No. 49 and second seed committed a costly double fault, handing Osorio a critical 5-4 break.
Osorio, eyeing her fourth career WTA singles title and her first outside Colombia, remained composed. She held serve in the tenth game, sealing the match after Eala netted a forehand return.
