Pinoy singer Matty J gets the elusive golden buzzer on Britain’s Got Talent

Former “Idol Philippines” contestant Matty Juniosa earned the golden buzzer on Britain’s Got Talent.

The 27-year-old singer received a standing ovation from both the audience and judges after delivering a standout performance of Prince’s “Purple Rain” during the auditions, with Simon Cowell pressing the golden buzzer, sending him straight to the semi-finals.

“It’s like when you discover a new food or a new restaurant, you’re like, ‘I need to go back, I need more,’” said Alesha Dixon.

“It was an amazing audition. And I just love you!” Amanda Holden added.

Musician-boxer KSI also praised Matty’s performance, noting his strong stage presence.

Meanwhile, Simpn described the moment as one of the biggest reactions the show has seen. 

“To everyone in this audience, I’m gonna say this is your golden buzzer as well,” he said.

Mattyy, who moved to Glasgow three years ago, currently works part-time as a waiter. During his audition, he shared his dream of performing for large audiences and making music full-time.
