Teagan Croft and Milo Manheim are set to lead in Disney’s newly announced live-action adaptation of “Tangled.”
On Wednesday, Jan. 7, the studio announced that Teagan and Milo will be playing Rapunzel and Flynn Rider, respectively.
The project revives the 2010 animated hit that followed Rapunzel, a princess with magically long hair who has spent her life locked in a tower, and her unexpected alliance with a witty outlaw on the run. The original film was voiced by Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi.
The live-action version will be directed by Michael Gracey, best known for “The Greatest Showman,” with a screenplay by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson. Disney has not yet announced a release date.
Teagan is widely recognized for her role as Raven on DC’s “Titans” and her appearance in Netflix’s “True Spirit.” Meanwhile, Milo is a familiar face to Disney audiences as the lead of the “Zombies” franchise and was runner-up on “Dancing with the Stars” season 27.
“Tangled” is the latest addition to Disney’s growing slate of live-action adaptations, which includes “Beauty and the Beast,” “Aladdin,” “The Little Mermaid,” and “Lilo & Stitch.”
