US-based Filipino content creator Mama Lulu has drawn praise online after speaking about accepting her LGBTQIA+ children while staying firm in her faith.
In a video, Mama Lulu responded to a question from her son Oliver about how she reconciles her religious beliefs with having a gay son and a lesbian daughter. She said her relationship with God is personal and rooted in empathy.
The 68-year-old content creator shared that her understanding of the LGBTQIA+ community comes from experience, describing those she has met as kind and sincere.
“To make it short, they are just human beings,” she added.
Mama Lulu also pushed back against claims that acceptance contradicts religious teachings, saying such views overlook the essence of compassion.
She also addressed criticisms toward transgender individuals, noting that change is part of everyday life.
Despite differing opinions, Mama Lulu said she hopes to leave a message of love. Her statements have since gained support online, with many users praising her openness and perspective.
